I have a question about keeping your upper back aka the thoracic spine. If you have a “straight” thoracic spine at set up, do you want to maintain that straightness throughout the backswing and downswing?

Truly a lightbulb moment when you realise you are a hoister. I always wondered how instructors in these videos can show their takeaway in slow motion and even hold it at the top, as I am only able to get to the top with a dose of momentum, even then it isn’t very comfortable , and forget about holding it. Now after trying moving shoulder few inches sideways while turning, it feels like my range of motion just doubled!!! And the wrist hinge info is brilliant too, I definitely am a reverse rotator, which always felt unnatural. Can’t wait to try this at the range, big Thanks to AMG!

Great video! Do you by chance have a video showing face angle to path data throughout the back swing? Saw the one for the pro's downswings from 6 years ago but didn't find one for the back swing. If there isn't, would it be possible for you to do one showing that data. tia

@@AthleticMotionGolf Thank you for the reply. So, it starts square.... then does it "gradually" open over the whole backswing or does it tend to stay close to square until a bit before P1 and then opens incrementally for the rest of the backswing?

@@AthleticMotionGolf Great. I was getting best results doing that but wasn't sure if I was adding some weird movement that would be detrimental down the road or "non-data supported". Thank you very much for clearing that up. Appreciate it.

Just rewatching the video and reading all the comments. Seeing the reaction times people had was fun, but I'm not sure everyone got the overall message. There's no time to think while doing. I'll bet no one thought "press finger, press finger" while doing this. They all thought of what they were going to do before hand and then reacted. Someone even went as far as to think of a double finger method to accomplish the task. The point is, there's no time to think, so you'd better have a good concept of what you want to accomplish. Because right concept or wrong concept, your body will do it.

Got a lesson a year ago and the instructor fixed my set up and take away, from there i started making much better contact. He showed me on video and I was genuinely surprised at the difference it made. The club was much shallower in my DS and contact improved instantly. It took a lot of practice to get used to it but it definitely improved my game.

No! We’re showing the top to lead arm parallel in this video. It will not split the bicep in that window, but it will as the downswing continues from there.

Excellent video and explanation, especially the common flaw where players move the ball back in their stance thinking they are creating shaft lean and compression. I was wondering if you could expand on this for uneven lies, especially downhill lies. Are there any tips or drills that you could show?

You guys briefly touched on vertical forces when starting to rotate the lead hip. Do you guys prefer a “jumping” force off of the lead foot or more of a diagonal force as if pushing your toes into the front of your lead shoe to help get that lead hip to wheel around you. The jumping option would lead to coming into the ball more? I’d love to hear your opinion.

Gentlemen, when I watched the first couple of minutes I started thinking that as someone whose fault is taking the club back outside the target line, I thought this video might not be for me. However, the drills you talk about are drills that will help any takeaway. I particularly like the drill where you use the left arm only. It is, like you mention, virtually impossible to take it away off line. Also makingsure the left shoulder moves behind the ball it vital for all backswings. I have seen other videos of yours where you have hit on these points, but it is always good to get a refresher course. Always appreciate your videos. 🤘 ✌️
